Eugenia Ignatova

I am a visual artist, photobook designer, and curator based in Belgrade, Serbia.

My work focuses on photography and archives, exploring how images capture time, memory, and personal history, and how they can be reconfigured to reveal new perspectives. My projects stem from artistic research. I collect, examine, and reconstruct visual material, looking for the threads that connect a personal story to something larger.

In recent years, this research has increasingly taken shape through photobook design and curatorial work. I view books and exhibitions as extensions of the same concept — spaces where sequence, pacing, and material choices become part of the narrative. Alongside my own projects, I collaborate with other artists and archives to shape how their images are interpreted.

I was selected as the FRESH EYES Talent of 2023, and my work has been exhibited in the UK, Serbia, and Russia. My project Highlights is held in the MMOMA fund.
I’m a mentor at the Vice Versa Triangle photography residency in Gardinovci, Serbia.
